Combs
A comb is a tool featuring a linear and discontinuous active section with teeth that are separated at regular or irregular intervals.
There are many secondary alternative types of combs, such as double-pronged tools and multi-toothed combs.
Multi-toothed combs are defined as follows:
teeth separated at even or uneven intervals;
profile (curved or straight face);
tooth morphology (flat, round, oval, dashes or stitches);
identical or different tooth morphology;
tooth width;
tool height.
Changing tool face heights and widths will be explained with the variants. The impression of a comb’s active section is a dotted and lined up multiple impression.
Double-pronged tools are defined as follows:
tooth morphology (flat, round, oval, dashes or stitches);
similar or different tooth morphology;
tooth width;
tool height.
