Bradford
The Theoretical Archaeology Group (TAG) was founded as a national body in 1979 with the aim of promoting debate and discussion of issues in theoretical archaeology. Its principal activity is the promotion of an annual conference, traditionally held in December and organised so as to be accessible at low cost to research students and others.
Papers around our theme of ‘diversity’ are particularly encouraged.
Diversity may incorporate a wide range of areas, for instance :
– In our discipline & demographics : students, academics, professionals & community
– In what we study : including food and drink, past genders, past identities
– The diversity of archaeological practice : i.e. theory, science, lab, fieldwork
Please submit proposals for papers directly to the session organisers, or for general papers directly to the TAG Bradford committee.
Some sessions ...
– Advances in Prehistoric Art
– (En)Tangled : on the need for agent plurality in understanding identity formation processes and cosmologies in prehistoric communities
– Social Differentiation, Personhood and Inequality in Prehistoric Societies : Understanding Diverse Forms of Social Organisation
