[Congrès, colloques, réunions]

27-30 octobre 2012
Tokyo : Meiji University

Lithic raw material provenance studies have long tradition both in Europe and in East Asia. Specifically, obsidian provenance studies have attained a new horizon of this area in recent two decades in Japan and adjoining area as in Russian Far East and Korean Peninsula. Archaeological interpretations of lithic raw material procurement systems and distribution pattern or transportation systems have also developed in various areas with many case studies on different lithic raw materials. This symposium aims to discuss on these topics with particular reference to the comparative perspective between Europe and East Asia.
