Pivoting Impression A+B return
The “return technique” form was defined by I. Caneva (Caneva 1987) as a variation of the “Alternately Pivoting Stamp".
This form combines various parallel bands of motifs created by A+B pivoting impression of a double-pronged tool / implement, with an alternate direction and overlaid ends.
Imp_piv_AB_return The motif produced may be described as parallel lines of dots with irregular stamps due to repeated applications of the tool.
According to the level of irregularity in the craftsman’s movement, intermediary dots may be inserted within the stamps of the previous row.
