CerAfIm contacted “Sahel: making a good impression » group ("a Leverhulme Trust-funded Research Network working on West African material") during the Fall 2007. This network brings together a number of researchers who endeavor to define the decoration techniques and instruments of early ceramics in the Sahel region. As the goals of both groups are similar, we have been contemplating developing future interactions and collaborations.
In this light, CerAfIm took part in a meeting for planning "Sahel" works in Oxford (Trinity College) on April 11th, 2008. CerAfIm’s work history and results were introduced during the meeting.
Potential collaborations between both groups include the organization of a common work session on African ceramology, planned to be held at the Pan-African Congress on Prehistory in Dakar (November 2010).
