The first day was dedicated to a public symposium on changing prehistoric and historic ceramic decorations in the Sahara, Sahel and Sudan regions. The acta were published in Préhistoire et Anthropologie Méditerranéennes.
On the second day, the committee on the project’s decoration technique and instrument nomenclature was held. The participants adopted the rule that all decorative patterns shall be defined and classified according to the techniques, gestures and instruments used.

A reference system for decorative patterns and archaeological and ethnographic decoration instruments is currently under development on a new Cerafim website (http://cerafim.free.fr).
